Your data science team stays exactly where it is. I do not write models, tune pipelines, or manage engineers — what I bring is different. I own the AI register as the named officer, sign the procurement answers, and report to the board on AI decisions. A company of your size usually has the technical people already; what it lacks is someone accountable for AI outside the team itself.
